In the Middle of the Monitor Valley
This photo looks south and was taken about midway down the Monitor Valley Scenic Drive. At this point, there is a small, almost indiscernible pass which separates the southern half of the Monitor Valley with the northern half. The water seen in the background is a "wash." These washes collect the water from the snow melt from the mountains. But, unlike a lake, this water will disappear soon, evaporating under the bright sun of a Nevada summer.
