The Big Smoky Valley Wash
The Big Smoky Valley wash lies pretty much in the center of the valley. Here is where the bulk of the run-off from the snow melt in the mountains comes - only to evaportate away in the hot Nevada sun. In the background are the Toiyabe Mountains. What looks like smoke rising above the mountains is, in fact, a thunderstorm that is in the process of forming.
