Photographs of Fremont Street in Las Vegas

Fremont Street is the way Las Vegas used to be. You won’t find any new, first-class, ritzy casinos here. And the casinos are all far smaller than the monsters located further south on the Las Vegas Strip.

Of course, the less-ritzy casinos do have a benefit - far reduced cost. The food is inexpensive, even if not always especially good (although the Main Street Buffet is superb). The casinos on Fremont Street, while many havne’t been “modernized” in a while, are still fun to go into. And above all, they are inexpensive. Unlike at other casinos, you won’t have to wander around for hours to find the nickel slot machines or blackjack tables. In short, Fremont Street caters to the low-budget and casual traveler who is sick and tired of wandering for miles through the sprawling mega-resorts found on the Las Vegas Strip. Additionally, Fremont Street has one very unique attraction, the massive Fremont Street Light Show.

Fremont Street is located several miles north of the Las Vegas Strip, in the downtown area of Las Vegas.
