Photographs of Elko, Nevada

Elko is located in northeast Nevada, along Interstate 80. Unlike most parts of Nevada that suffered greatly with the "Great Recession," Elko, due to the gold mining boom - has done quite well. The downtown area is busy during the day and becomes jam packed on Friday and Saturday nights. As Elko is the largest city on Interstate 80 between Reno and Salt Lake City, Elko also gets lots of traffic simply "passing through" to somewhere else. Finally, Elko has a nice location, as it's situated near the Ruby Mountains and the beautiful Lamoille Canyon Scenic Drive.
