Fish Lake Valley PhotographsAbout the Fish Lake Valley in NevadaThe Fish Lake Valley is a beautiful valley surrounded by towering mountians, particularly on the western side. The White Mountains provide a scenic backdrop to this remote and secluded valley. These mountains also contain Nevada highest mountain peak, Boundary Peak at 13,145 feet. The Fish Lake Valley is seldom visited by people. Only one state highway, Highway 264, goes through the valley…and that highway doesn’t really lead anywhere. In short, if someone wants to visit the Fish Lake Valley, they sort of need to go out of their way to see it…as the odds of “simply passing through it” are slim indeed. The Fish Lake Valley is located right on the border with California. The valley itself is surprisingly agricultural in nature, with most of the water used for irrigation supplied from the melting of the snow in the White Mountains. Hay fields are very common in the Fish Lake Valley. Only one town is located in the Fish Lake Valley, a tiny town called Dyer. And this town is hardly huge either, containing just a small general store/gas station, a post office and a restaurant if I remember correctly.
