About Lamoille, Nevada

Lamoille, NV is a quiet little town lying about 25 miles to the Southeast of Elko, and sits at the base of the Ruby Mountains. As such, the location of Lamoille is absolutely stunning. The town of Lamoille lies in the Lamoille Valley…which is a quickly growing area due to the lack of housing found in neighboring Elko and the quick and easy drive it is between Lamoille Valley and Elko on Highway 227.

Lamoille is also the jumping off point for the scenic drive up into Lamoille Canyon, which is a beautiful road that threads it’s way through a deep canyon in well into the Ruby Mountains.

The Lamoille Valley itself is, rather surprisingly, highly agricultural in nature. The Lamoille Valley has quite a bit of irrigation going on, with most of the water drawn from the snow melt that flows off the Ruby Mountains (the mountains act as a giant snow catching machine in the winter months).
