About Boulder City, NV

Boulder City is a great little town…although I guess little isn’t the best way to describe it anymore. Boulder City is located just a scant 25 miles away from the hustle and bustle of Las Vegas. Boulder City was really put on the map during the construction of Hoover Dam, which is located way down in Boulder Canyon. Because of this history with Hoover Dam, Boulder City has all sorts of memorabalia around town signifying the importance of the dam in the towns history.

In addition to the dam itself, Boulder City has become a get-a-way for people seeking water activities, as Lake Mead is located right on the edge of town. Because of this, Boulder City is one of the few places in Nevada that has a sprawling marina, lots of water activities and in general often times seems more like a place on might find on the ocean instead of in the deserts of Nevada.

Boulder City is also unique among towns in Nevada…to the best of my knowledge…no gambling is allowed! Happily, for those seeking out casinos for entertainment, both Laughlin and Las Vegas are a short and easy drive away.
