Vertical LIfe Zone Sign in Great Basin National Park
The vertical life zones in Great Basin National Park. This was a “two part” sign…and is the “right side” of the sign. This side shows what animals live in what life zones. See the next photograph to see what elevations each life zone corresponds too.

About This Gallery

Great Basin National Park is a beautiful park located in a very remote area of eastern Nevada, with the main entrance to the park being Baker. Great Basin National Park contains the USA’s southern-most glacier and as well as some of the tallest peaks in Nevada…with Wheeler Peak being the tallest peak with an elevation of 13,060 feet. Unlike most National Parks, Great Basin as of this date does not charge a entry-fee…probably because no one goes here.
