About the Luxor Hotel & Casino

The Luxor Hotel & Caisno in Las Vegas is most definitely one of the more unique and outwardly beautiful hotels in towns. Designed in the shape of a pyramid, even during the day the hotel looks great. But by night…wow…what a beautiful hotel. The pyramid is “perfectly” lit up on it’s edges with not-too-bright lights, while a powerful spotlight beams straight up into the night sky.

The inside of the Luxor isn’t too shabby either. The entire inside is essentially “hollow”…so you’ll have plenty of headroom unless you are like 300 feet tall. It’s really quite neat being down on the main floor of the Luxor and looking straight up towards the top. Additionally, the Luxor, as it embraces an Egyptian Theme, has plenty of “Egyptian Things,” for lack of a better word, inside.

As for the rooms, I’ve heard mixed things on them…I’ve never stayed there, so I can’t review it, sorry. But what I’ve heard from friends who have stayed there is that the rooms are a “bit awkward” due to the sloping sides, and another friend compares the rooms at the Luxor to rooms at a garden variety, but clean, motel.

The location of the Luxor is also superb…at least for me. It is on the South end of the Las Vegas Strip…midway between the Mandalay Bay (to the South) and the ExCalibur (to the North). A tram runs back and forth between the Mandalay Bay, the Luxor and the ExCalibur…making movement between the three quite easy. Additionally, all three casinos are also connected by a nice indoor walkway that also has many nice places to shop.
