About Bally’s in Las Vegas

Bally’s was the first ever hotel I stayed at in Las Vegas…way back in 1996. At the time, Bally’s was considered one of the premiere hotels and casinos in town, probably ranking only behind the MGM Grand and Caesars Palace. Today…Bally’s is still very nice, and it has a killer location smack dab in the middle of the Las Vegas Strip.

One thing about staying in Bally’s…a friend brought this fact up to me. Bally’s is one of the uglier buildings on the Las Vegas Strip today. As such, by staying in it…you don’t have to worry about looking out the window and seeing it. A friend who stayed in Bally’s this past year had a killer view of the Paris Hotel and the Eiffel Tower, while another friend ended up with a wonderful view of the Bellagio.

Still, Bally’s is quite attractive at night…it just has the “older Las Vegas” look.

One very nice thing about Bally’s is that the Las Vegas Monorail stops directly behind it. As such, Bally’s, similar to the MGM Grand and the Sahara, is a perfect place to stay if you want to travel around the Las Vegas Strip easily and avoid the mad drive down Las Vegas Boulevard.
