About the Bellagio Hotel & Casino in Las Vegas

The Bellagio is widely considered one of the premiere resorts in Las Vegas…and it has prices to match. It is also my favorite place in Vegas too…both to stay at and to photograph. The rooms of the Bellagio range from excellent to superb. The food is expensive…but well worth the price. Even their buffet is superb…a rather rare thing in Las Vegas sadly.

And then, of course, there are the Fountains of Bellagio. Vegas has numerous attractions and unique thing. Yet, I still find the Fountains of Bellagio the most unique “sight” in town.

For those not familiar with it, the Fountains of Bellagio are high pressure fountains that shoot water more than 100 feet into the air…all timed to match whatever music is playing. And not just one fountain…but hundreds of fountains, too. As such, I find the Fountains of the Bellagio to be the “ultimate water show.”

Due to the lighting, the shows…which occur every 15 minutes after dusk…provide for some absolutely spectacular photography. The trick, of course, is to get the right vantage and to vastly experiment with all sorts of camera settings. The constant changing lighting conditions postively require manual control of the camera…trust me…trusting the camera to make the correct exposure settings is a recipe for failure.
