Maps & Satellite Images of the Big Smoky Valley in Central Nevada

Shown below are maps and satellite images of the Big Smoky Valley, which is located in Central Nevada. The Big Smoky Valley is a gorgeous valley by any accounts, with a massive valley giving way to towering mountain peaks on the east and west side. The valley is flanked on the west by the dominating Toiyabe Mountains, which is home to the Arc Dome Wilderness Area. And to the east, the valley is flanked by the Toquima Range.

Several towns are located in the Big Smoky Valley, the largest of which is Hadley. The state’s largest gold mine is also located in the Big Smoky Valley, too.

The Big Smoky Valley is by any account “remote”, although by no means the remotest spot in the state. Highway 376, a state highway that happens to be paved, runs up the middle of the valley for its entire length and makes for a stunningly beautiful drive. You can pick up Highway 376 from either Highway 50 (to the north) to the east of Austin, or from the south by heading east for a few miles outside of Tonopah on Highway 6.
