The Luxor Casino in Las Vegas

The Luxor Casino in Las Vegas

The Luxor Hotel and Casino is a beautiful hotel located on the Southern end of the Las Vegas Strip. The hotel itself is designed in the shape of a pyramid. While the Luxor is a beautiful hotel from the outside at any time, the hotel truly comes alive at night…when a powerful spotlight on the top of the pyramid directs light out into the night sky. This light can be seen from anywhere within Las Vegas and well outside of it too. (more…)

Photoblog : The Fountains of Bellagio I

May 28th, 2007

This photograph (click photo for larger image) is of the Fountains of the Bellagio…which is part of the nightly watershow that happens in the “pond” in front of the Bellagio Hotel & Casino in Las Vegas. To me, who is too poor to gamble much, this show…which is free to all…is one of the best parts of visiting Las Vegas. And, with the ever-changing light conditions and the beautiful fountains, it makes for a photographers dream come true. (more…)

Caesars Palace in Las Vegas

Caesars Palace in Las Vegas

Caesars Palace in Las Vegas, despite it’s “relative age” in comparison to other Las Vegas hotels and casinos, is still a beautiful hotel inside and out. And for a photographer, it is also a superb place to take pictures of as the hotel is beautiful at night and has plenty of potential “water shots” both on property and off. (more…)

Caesars Palace at Dusk

Caesars Palace at Dusk

Caesars Palace is another of my favorite hotels in Las Vegas. And this should not come as a surprise I guess, since being an avid photographer, Caesars Palace is no doubt one of the more “photogenic” hotels and casinos on the Las Vegas Strip. (more…)

The Bellagio at Dusk

The Bellagio at Dusk

The Bellagio Hotel and Casino in Las Vegas is one of the nicest, if not the nicest, hotels in town. While rates for rooms, drinks and basically everything else is really expensive…there is no doubt, at least to me, that the Bellagio is one of the prettiest hotels in town too. This is especially so when the Fountains of the Bellagio are running. (more…)

Photoblog : View from the Stratosphere Tower

April 28th, 2007

The Stratosphere Hotel and Casino is located in Las Vegas, and essentially marks the “northern end” of the Las Vegas Strip. The Stratosphere, besides being a popular and very affordable hotel and casino, also has a unique “entertainment” area…or at least as unique as you can be in Las Vegas. (more…)

Photoblog : Stokes Castle at Sunset in Austin, Nevada

April 24th, 2007

Stokes Castle is a historic “castle” that is located in the highly remote town of Austin, Nevada. There is quite the lengthy history to this castle which I’ll elaborate on in a future post about Austin. But for now…just accept the fact that there is a beautiful and very old rock castle here. The castle itself sits just on the “outskirts” of Austin…on a dirt road about 1/4 of a mile from downtown. A small parking area is also available. (more…)

The Massive Big Smoky Valley

The Massive Big Smoky Valley

The Big Smoky Valley of Central Nevada is one of my favorite places in the state. There are several reasons for this…but the main one being is that the valley is gorgeous and serves as a gateway to the highly beautiful and accessible Toiyabe Mountains, which is home to numerous 4×4 roads as well as the Arc Dome Wilderness Area. (more…)
