The Monte Carlo Hotel and Casino in Las Vegas

The Monte Carlo Hotel and Casino is yet another gorgeous hotel in Las Vegas. Located just to the North of the New York New York, the Monte Carlo is situated right in the thick of things. I’ve never stayed at the Monte Carlo, so I really can’t add to much beyond the photos I have. About the only thing I do know about the Monte Carlo is that it’s quite expensive but, supposedly, exceptionally nice…even by Vegas standards. (more…)

The New York New York Hotel & Casino

The New York New York Hotel & Casino

The New York New York Hotel and Casino in Las Vegas is one of the most striking casinos in Las Vegas, at least to me. The replica of the New York City skyline sits dramatically on the corner of Tropicana Boulevard and Las Vegas Boulevard. The outside of the casino is simply wonderful, with the entire hotel complex being a mixture of a mini-New York skyline. (more…)

Dusk at the New York New York Hotel

The New York New York is one of my favorite hotels and casinos in Las Vegas. From the outside, as the photos show, it resembles a miniature New York City. And the inside is just as classy. This photo gallery showcases the New York New York at night. See the second gallery for photos of the New York New York during the day. (more…)

The Excalibur Hotel & Casino

The Excalibur Hotel & Casino

The Excalibur is a neat place. It’s not the priciest or most stylish of hotels in town. But…and I guess what I like about it…is the hotels theme. The theme of the Excalibur is obvious in the hotels looks…with it’s many spires and castle-like appearance. (more…)

The Luxor Hotel & Casino

The Luxor Hotel & Casino

The Luxor Hotel & Caisno in Las Vegas is most definitely one of the more unique and outwardly beautiful hotels in towns. Designed in the shape of a pyramid, even during the day the hotel looks great. But by night…wow…what a beautiful hotel. The pyramid is “perfectly” lit up on it’s edges with not-too-bright lights, while a powerful spotlight beams straight up into the night sky. (more…)

The MGM Grand Hotel & Casino

The MGM Grand Hotel & Casino

The MGM Grand is, at least as of this moment, the largest hotel in Las Vegas. Rumor has it that some of the newer resorts coming online may be larger…but…the MGM Grand is also expanding. So…who knows…the MGM Grand may continue to hold the title of the largest hotel in Las Vegas. (more…)

Bally's in Las Vegas

Bally's in Las Vegas

Bally’s was the first ever hotel I stayed at in Las Vegas…way back in 1996. At the time, Bally’s was considered one of the premiere hotels and casinos in town, probably ranking only behind the MGM Grand and Caesars Palace. Today…Bally’s is still very nice, and it has a killer location smack dab in the middle of the Las Vegas Strip. (more…)

The Tropicana Hotel & Casino

The Tropicana Hotel & Casino

The Tropicana once upon a time was considered the “premiere” hotel and casino in Las Vegas. Today…it has fallen a bit behind it’s competitiors…most notably the MGM Grand and New York New York, which are both right across the street. Recognizing this, the Tropicana recently announced a MASSIVE rebuilding and reworking of the hotel and casino…with up to 8000 new hotel rooms being planned. While on the one hand this is unfortunate, as it removes an affordable hotel in the heart of the Las Vegas Strip, on the other hand I suspect it was inevitable considering the vast changes going on in Las Vegas right now. (more…)
