Photoblog : The Clover Valley of Northeast Nevada![]() The Clover Valley is one of the hidden gems in Nevada as far as I’m concerned. Tucked away to the east of the Humboldt Mountains and located about 30 miles to the south of Wells, this valley simply sprawls on and on and on. The valley is incredibly scenic, particularly if you are lucky enough to visit it during the late spring, early summer period. During this time the Clover Valley is aptly named, with clover covering the ground everywhere. Additionally, the grass is nice and green and the mountains will still have a nice layer of snow on them. Few people ever visit the Clover Valley, simply because no one has ever heard of it before. And like most of the other valleys, you do need to make the effort to actually visit it. The valley itself, while close to Highway 93, isn’t obvious on either a map or by “visual clues.” You sort of have to stumble into it like I did. Hi Mark,
It took me a minute to remember what lake that is. It’s called Snow Water Lake and lies just as the southern end of the Clover Valley, on the East side of US 93.
It’s a seasonal lake. And basically very shallow. I have a few photographs of it taken off of US 93. Definitely not the place to bring the bass boat or sailboat.
